Just wondering…

Office setting right?

You walk into the bathroom-washing your hands and your co-worker comes in.

Do you say hi and start a conversation?

Do you ignore them?

Do you talk about what you’re working on?

I think it’s just awkward.

Fortunately, I haven’t run into my co-workers, yet. I probably just jinxed myself, LOL.

Either way you look at it, it’s weird. Well for me anyways.

  1. thank you for posting this! I’ve had the same questions… its so awkward, haha. Like I don’t want to start a convo if they are headed for a stall, I usually only talk if we are washing our hands at the SAME time, haha.

  2. Awkward! One day someone came in while I was washing my hands, and she kept talking while she was in the stall. Once she stopped talking, I couldn’t figure out if it was polite to just leave or if I needed to say “Bye.”

    • yeah, i usually make it clear that i am leaving. loud swoosh of the door with a bang at the end! haha-hopefully they got the hint ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Oh my gosh! I wrote a blog post on this called Potty Talk last Thursday. It wasn’t anyone from MY office but an office down the hall. A virtual stranger who liked to talk from the stall. Eeek! haha. I’m a little scared to go to the bathroom now.

    • Oh my word! Yes, I hate having to worry about that when I’m like sleeping over someone’s house or at a hotel with friends-I run the faucet or turn the fan on. LOL!

    • see, but then the other person might not want any communication at all. you know do your business and pretend nothing happened and we’re friends outside of the bathroom. lol, just weird. idk. maybe its totally just me.

  4. Haha it happens at my office all the time! This might be different for guys, but one should never speak to other people in the restroom. No eye contact either. ๐Ÿ™‚
