She comes rolling around again…

For starters, my eczema came back with a vengeance in September 2013. I stopped living life. My life consisted of work and home. Then to my relief, I was laid off in November 2013. I went on my family trip to Israel, Greece, and Rome. For you IG people mine is mct7988 the # for the trip was  #RIGtrip2013

Rome was everything I dreamed it would be and more. My sister and her boyfriend kindergarten sweethearts finally got engaged at Trevi Fountain nonetheless. My parents renewed their vows in Israel for their 25th anniversary. I found the love of my life while touring Rome…just kidding. I’m still single.

I came back from the RIGtrip and came into contact with someone from the Phils who had been trying to recruit me to teach English at their school. Long story short I bought a ticket to the Philippines.

I went to the Philippines in Feb and detoured a week in Guam. I taught English for a month and then vacationed with family. I also underwent eczema detox  IGers my # for this trip is #sea2014mct I also stopped over in Hawaii for two weeks for my cousin’s college graduation and visit my college friend.

Arriving back in the mainland…my grandpa was sick so for two months I was back and forth between home and my grandparents–helping out where I could. My eczema came back but not as severe as it had been. I did find something to help though and it’s slowly healing. Then it was crunch time for my sister’s wedding. The # for that is #DATlove92014

Now the nitty gritty stuff you’ll habe to wait for…I’m leaving again

Travel jealousy, Friendliness, Flirting, and mothers… Part 1

Yes all in one night. It’s insane!

So my Tita (she’s basically my second mother; HER mom babysat me when I was just a baby-oh the stories she can tell) her nephew from the Philippines was at church on Sunday.

Mind you, we were invited to their house on Wednesday for dinner-her nephew coming to visit was brought up ever so slightly..now I wonder if that was on purpose.

I digress as always.

Sunday after church she grabs my hand and pulls me toward her…I want you to meet my nephew… “Oh sure!” (You know how I am Ms. Personality when need be, UGH) Chit-chat my Tita’s sister was there and I haven’t seen her in several months so I was able to focus my chit-chat on her! Evil I know but hey! I do what I have to do.

So, we talk for a little bit it’s more of I’m talking to my Tita in front of him to talk to him… if that makes sense. Anyway, nothing out of the ordinary about that conversation. My mom is ready to leave and good thing because I am HUNGRY! I quickly say goodbye and give my Titas a hug and a kiss and tell the nephew “Nice to meet you!” while running away to the car.

Later that night after evening service. The nephew meets my dad (they happen to be sitting behind us at church) and of course I’m just chilling with everyone. My dad, my tito, my tita, their daughter Dessa. So I include them in conversation asking where he went to visit in California and asking if they took him here or there…etc… All of a sudden I realize it’s just me and him talking with everyone else gone. What happened the RAPTURE?!

“Hm… What is this about?!”

So obviously single adults talk about their lives which happens to be work since we’re single and don’t have a family…

Me: So Tita said your company sent you to all these places for training…

Him: Yeah Costa Rica for four months, Boston for 2 weeks and California for a week.

Me: Must be nice. I’m totally jealous. I LOVE BOSTON.  What’s the training for?

Him: Processes, software, etc.

Me: Oh so you’re like a computer engineer?

Him: Yeah.

Me: I’m jealous that your job sends you everywhere for training. Must be nice. (Getting the jealous vibe?)

Him: Yeah so what do you do…?

Me: I work in the accounting department. (I don’t give my title because people automatically think BANK. WRONG! I’m a fresh graduate with no experience let alone with my CPA exam passed either!)

Him: You must be rich…

Me: Oh no no no… you’re the rich one. Your company pays for your traveling expenses–meals, accommodations, etc. If you add up those expenses they pay for with your salary you make WAY more money than me.

Around this time my mother is passing by…she looks at me with a HUGE smile… and then glances at him and looks back at me still smiling… Me: “Eh hi mama” While wondering how absurd my mother is acting…

As soon as she passes by my Tita catches my eye… same dorky smile my mother gave me … (my tita is 6 rows behind us talking with her friends…without a care in this world that her nephew has been talking to this stranger for the past n  minutes)

My thoughts: OH GREAT! They’re up to their matchmaking again!

Him: So have you been to the Philippines?

My thoughts: he just asked me a question… must answer and clear facial expression to not reflect my amusement or frustration at my tita and mom’s antics OR assumptions!

Me: Yeah.. 10 years ago…

Him: Hm…nice. What part?

Me: Illigan City.

Him: Oh ok that’s where my Alma Mater is…

He then proceeds to tell me the name of the school IIT or something like that.

Me: Oh ok.. don’t know about that.

Him: You should visit…

Me: I’m planning on it.

Him: Yeah.. maybe my company will send me for training again to California. In 10 years…

Me:…I think you’re making fun of me…

Him: Oh no… laugh laugh laugh.. yeah you should visit I can take you around Cebu City…

BEFORE you make fun of me for even inkling at the thought of saying Yes I will visit… but not really answering if I would visit him and allow him to take me around the Philippines… take a look at Cebu City…

Cebu Capitol Building

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel

The Terraces at Ayala Center Cebu

Now tell me who would say “No… I don’t think I’ll be visiting..”

to be continued tomorrow… 🙂

Welcome to my Randomness XV

I got an email from him… and now I feel like not replying forever.

Well, maybe not forever but at least a month or month and a half.

Is that bad?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’ve not spent any money so far, unless you count gas but that’s doesn’t count, I think. At least, I’m saying it doesn’t.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Going to the LA County fair today after 5pm because it’s only $5. My friend works there so we’ll do the whole employee parking deal woowoo!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oh got my first AWARD from Marliz3e!

I’ve yet to tag 10 people, it’s coming! 🙂

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’ve still not fully adjusted to being home. Sometimes I wonder if I’m supposed to be living in California if I have no friends in California. When I mean friends I mean the type of friends you can sporadically count on to meet you after work for an hour at Starbucks or grab dinner with when you get off work late.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Believe me I know somethings you plan for but somethings planning just doesn’t happen. Just saying…

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This SoCal weather is weird one day this week I had my boots, leggings, and long sweater-type blouse. The next day I wore a polka-dot skirt, blouse, and peep-toe wedges. Is that supposed to happen that way?!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Volleyball games: so far still undefeated. The second game set we won the first and the second game we were down 10-20. We ended the game somewhere around 22-24 in our favor. It was intense!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Please take me away…

Preferably where this will be the sunset...

Thank you,

Melanie

Welcome to my Randomness XIV

My life has been quite uneventful this week.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’ve been sleeping on the couch this week.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I found bangles that fit from H&M (finally) . I have tiny wrists so its difficult to find bracelets/bangles that stay without making my wrists look even smaller!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Some reflexology lady is coming to my house tomorrow after lunch.

We’ll see how it goes!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Paid off another student loan! One more to go 🙂

I can also cross that off this list.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Looking over that list… I’ve crossed a few things off 🙂

  • Renewed Disneyland pass and added WOC viewing!
  • Bought a KBF pass went 3x in the summer.
  • I went to SD-Pastor Merritt’s church and Chicago
  • I went to the beach-Manhattan Beach/Huntington Beach
  • I went to Hollywood, Roscoe’s, Pink’s and OC.
  • Went on a 2 week spending fast vs. one week 🙂
  • Still working on that knot.. hopefully reflex lady can help.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’m going through withdrawals. I need to get out of LA County again..

Yes, I know I just went on “vacation” but literally one day out of LA was totally not enough!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’ve been drinking more than a gallon of water this week. CRAZY! I’m just always so thirsty…

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’m slowly getting used to not eating the untouchables. I still have to buy a journal to list everything I eat.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My new snacks have been cereals. All of the actual snacks have soy and peanut contamination, lol. I’m thinking of making my own granola/trail mix, with cereal. 🙂

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This past week I have- I had LIFE cereal, Kellogg mini wheats, and craisins. Yummy munchies

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Another volleyball game tomorrow! Oh, we won both sets, undefeated, no matches lost.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My goal: get my overhand serve back. I haven’t been practicing unlike last year where I did it all the time for volleyball.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’m going on another spending fast. This time I’m leaving all my credit cards at home. Meaning, my gas tank can never be close to empty and I cannot forget my phone anymore.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Have an awesome weekend everyone! I’ll be studying, yeah… [severe sarcasm]

We love food…

Enjoy food pictures from our family vacation:

In N Out

For lunch we had In-N-Out, let me say a lettuce wrap is hard to enjoy without tomatoes, needless to say the juice from my burger was strictly from the patty and the sauce.

For dinner we went to Splash Cafe at Pismo Beach.

Of course, I didn’t get clam chowder because I can’t have soy, rye, etc.

Notice the tomatoes and carrots?

I had grilled chicken and veggies. I gave the “untouchables” to my mom and sister.

Saturday for lunch we gps-ed this place called Alex BBQ at Shell Beach.

My sister had a bbq pulled sandwich. It was good. I only had the meat though, no bread, ugh.

I didn't eat the french fries.

I had a bbq wrap. Infested with tomatoes, I had asked for no tomatoes since the wrap was sun-dried tomatoes. I didn’t have a reaction since I took Benadryl afterwards, luckily.

Can't you just taste it?!

My brother and dad shared ribs. It was juicy, moist, sweet, so good. 🙂

We drove to Morrow Bay afterward. As always it was foggy. They had a farmer’s market. We walked around, tried different organic fruits, sampled organic drinks. At the end of the Farmer’s Market, Kettle Korn greeted us!

Kettle Corn-medium bag $5

The bag fed all 5 in my family including the trash can, aka John, my brother.

JOCKO's

Sunday lunch we went to Jocko’s Steakhouse in Nipomo.

Oh minor detail we got there at 1:30 the wait time: 1 hour-2hours. We waited an hour.

My parents got the Spencer-steak. It was amazing! We tried some 🙂

My sister and I shared the pork chops.

Pork chops, rice, and apple sauce.

We could have shared it with John and there would have been leftovers.

The orders came with veggie plate (pickles, banana peppers, carrots, celery, and olives)  salad, bread, beans, and dessert for each person at the table.

_    _    _    _    _    _    _    _    _    _    _

Last Sunday we went to Sakura of Tokyo in West Covina for a surprise dinner.

The hosts had ordered the boat to be shared with four people. First they brought out miso soup. Then California rolls-2 each person. Then came the boat. It was literally a boat.

Boatload of Food-Sakura of Tokyo. Taken by panorama.

The boat had fried chicken with sesame seeds, teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, and tempura-shrimp, zucchini, green beans, and squash.

Welcome to my Randomness XIII

Tomorrow my volleyball games are at 5 and 7pm.

I’m EXCITED!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I have a friend from college coming for the LA Country fair. Hopefully I get to hang out with her. Albeit she only lives in SD so I could always visit.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My lesson for the past week has been contentment and it’s a battle.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

From now on, I’m going to try and respond to all comments. I always appreciated people replying to my comment. So, now I’m going to try to do the same.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Bear with me, sometimes I don’t have a reply. I suppose a staple should be “Thanks for stopping by, come back soon :)”

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Sounds like it should be one of those state leaving signs… States have signs welcoming you….then they have signs thanking you for coming…Random, I know.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The reason I know? For graduation we drove from GA to SC all the way to ME. We saw a lot of state welcoming signs and thank-you come again signs.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My cousins were supposed to spend the night tonight and we were going to go to Roscoe’s. Alas, my cousin got hired for a job. Sad no Roscoe-cousin bonding time but I’m glad she got a job.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Hm, I don’t know if I’m going to the Fair this year. Anything good?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Considering I can’t eat anything… lol, probably not. Ugh, I never got to have my fried Twinkies.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The Kashi brand has become my new best friend. If I can’t find anything to buy at the store I just look for the Kashi brand. I’m bound to find something I can actually eat!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I wonder what people think as they see me pick up box after box looking at the side-I wonder if they think I’m looking at the sugar and calorie information or the ingredients.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oh and vacation was wonderful! I’ll have to bug my sister about pictures. BUT! Vacation couldn’t have ended sooner than my 2 coach purses, ugh. Shopping fast here I come.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Of course, not after I go to LOFT tomorrow because I have a 30% off coupon and 25% off coupons on purchases. I’m in need of tops-blouses, shirts, etc.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Tailor lady could you please hurry a little so I can rein in on my spending? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you 😀

Welcome to My Randomness XII

Today, I am at work BUT after work I am going on a FAMILY VACATION!

Woohoo! I’m excited. We’re driving up to Monterey.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Food wise, it will be quite interesting since I can’t eat soy, potatoes, celery, carrots, or peanuts (among other things). Don’t worry, I brought Benadryl and loratadine, just in case.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Today was my first day to drive in the carpool lane on my way to work. My parents rode with me so they can pick me up from work and we can head straight to our destination!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My dad: Oh, it’s not too traffic going to work. That’s good.

Me: Uhm, dad, we were in the carpool lane. I can’t take the carpool lane to work.

Dad: Oh yeah. Oh well.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Last Saturday, Danny and I drove down to eat out with Renae and her husband, James at Chili’s. The parking lot was full…

People in the OC think they can do whatever they want.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Lately, this song’s lyrics has been my mindset: Not that you died By Legacy Five.

Not that You died for the whole world
that humbles my heart, brings me to my knees
Not that you died for the whole world
But Lord that you died for me

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I want to take classes again but I’m going to have to wait til I pass my CPA exams. I’m asking around about Counseling classes. I’m really wanting to continue with my Psychology/Counseling minor.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My sister and I are planning to FINALLY take pictures-at the beach and hotel. Drive around and find other spots to take pics at, etc.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

She’s into photography and has 2-3 books on different techniques, coloring, lighting etc. We’ll see how well she does 🙂

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My mom ran into someone from our neighborhood who tailors clothes. I dropped off 3 pairs of pants to get done-$15 for all three. How amazing is that?!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I have a full bag of clothes-skirts, dresses, and blazers-needing to be tailored. I’m going to bring them in 3’s. I’m not in a hurry.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

On Wednesday I went to the mall with my sister. I found these jean capris that fit me perfectly! Perfect enough that I would wear it every day 🙂 Well, I didn’t get them because it was Buy one get one half off and I didn’t have another pair. If I bought them alone it was $27. I don’t pay that much for jean capris.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Yesterday I went back because I got off work at 5 and got to the mall at 6. Just to see and try them again. I really liked them and I figured if I tried them again maybe I wouldn’t like them and I can “let them go”. Haha. Guess what?! It was 50% off! WOOHOO! I bought them for $13.50-ah. YES!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I also went to Forever 21 and bought some accessories-ring and necklace:

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I even went to Target-I had to return the gum and the cashews. 😦

The gum had soy lecithin; the cashews contained peanut oil.

It was a good thing I looked at the ingredients!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oh and as I was walking into Target with cashews, gum, and receipt in hand-some guy in his truck:

Random guy: Hey! Are those cashews?!

Me: Uh, yeah, haha

Random guy: Share those! Cashews are good!

Walking away laughing out loud….

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

All that done and got to church at 7:05 !!!

My First Trip to the Allergist

Yesterday I went to an allergist. I didn’t know what to expect exactly. I talked with a few people who went to the same allergist I saw. One of them had back testing and the other had it on their arm…

Me? It was my back. I was given a sheet of different foods and told to check off what I eat.

Maybe they should have told me to check off what I did NOT eat.

The only things I did not check off on the sheet: barley, malt, coffee, hazelnut, and sesame oil.

Had I known what the consequence of checking off vs. non-checking off was, I would have lied and said I don’t eat.

I’m kidding. It was definitely quite an experience.

I laid on my stomach and the nurse cleaned off my back with alcohol. Yes, alcohol does sting me.

After my back was alcohol sanitized she proceeded to write on my back the different types of food I would be tested on. I could not have anything touching my back-my hair or hospital gown, etc.

One by one she began to poke me. Ok, I lied. It wasn’t just a poke. If you’ve ever sewn on buttons imagine that. You stick the needle through the button-hole and pull through so the thread is pulled through completely. Yeah, except imagine that in one swoop. Now imagine that over and over again. Yes, after a while it becomes somewhat painful.

Too bad as they tested me I couldn’t taste it in my mouth 🙂 One can think of weird things lying prostrate on the examination table.

After the first line of testing I starting anticipating the amount of pain I would feel. The pain grew with each “hook” especially the closer they got to my lower back-less skin and flesh to “hook”. Oh and what did they hook into my skin? The type of food I had checked off. If I remember correctly, the nurse said 90 “pokes”. Honestly, I lost count after 36.

After the poking, I had to lie still for 15minutes. No touching my back, no letting anything touch my back, no itching, etc.

The results?

Oh, there’s different levels. +/- , 1, 2, 3, and 4.

3-4 are STAY AWAY.

+/- , 1’s are mild reactions.

Please rephrase your question to: what are you NOT allergic to?!

Soy, almonds, potatoes, green peas, peanuts, celery, cucumber, salmon, scallops, tomatoes, cherries, and peaches.

Hm..am I missing anything?

Soy-soybean, soy sauce, tofu, etc

Peanuts- in the bean family. No beans of any sort.

Green string beans are ok-I tested negative for that.

Although I tested positive for salmon I’m thankful I can still have shrimp, lobster, shellfish, etc. Ah-I can still have SUSHI!

I’m still going to stick to my diet not as religiously though. A little bit of rice every now and then, etc.

After we left the doctor’s office I was overcome with itchiness. I’m assuming it’s from all that testing they did. I showed my brother my back and he called me a sicko! It was pretty nasty I looked in the mirror you can see red dots, scratches, bumps, etc. I’m assuming the more pronounced “scars” are where I tested positive.

My sister was laughing when I told her what I was allergic to. When we were little my mom made carrot and celery juice for us to drink. LOL.

My family LOVES salmon.

Majority of foods we prepare contain SOYsauce.

And potatoes are carbs-which I love love love!!!

Goodbye french fries, for good 😦 maybe. haha.

Oh…and the weather plays a major part in my eczema. I didn’t react so strongly at school because it was humid and sticky. I ate a lot of potatoes and soy products, ignorantly of course.

I most definitely want to go to China now 🙂

Oh and I would recommend seeing an allergist and being tested for food. It’s quite informative and most definitely helpful!

Welcome to my Randomness IX

Yes, I know kinda early right?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Last week my post was a day late-so it’s even now 🙂

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This past weekend was hectic (More detailed post with pictures to come): LAX, Cheesecake Factory at Pasadena, KBF, LAX, Pink’s Hot Dogs in Hollywood, Universal City Walk, Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd, Bel-Air/Beverly Hills, Griffith Observatory, Americana at Brand, LAX, Manhattan Beach, Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles on Pico Blvd in LA, 21 Choices at Pasadena.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Last night the Hatches and my friends went to Bonelli Lake to sea-doo/wave runner. I went to the lake but didn’t participate. I’ve been on it so many times already. Oh and Ben managed to flip the sea-doo within the first 2 minutes of driving.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

We went to Shogun in La Verne afterward. Yummy….Unfortunately I was so occupied and hungry I completely forgot to take pictures… sorry. Next time, I promise.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Today after church we’re going back to Pasadena for some ramen noodle. Even more yummy

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Tomorrow I’m going to Disneyland! I’m excited because I haven’t seen California Adventure’s World of Color yet! I don’t know how it’ll go exactly since I’m on a non-starch diet (post still to come). Don’t worry, QueenP I will answer your question!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Saturday my friends leave. Sunday the foreign exchange students leave. It’s going to be really quiet in the house now.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Actually, if I remember correctly…I think my mom invited one of her old best friends to stay at our house for a few days. Something about them traveling down here to go to Disneyland 🙂

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

So it may not be a quiet house yet

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Saturday before my friends’ flight I think Danny and I are going to take them to the Promenade… Marc’s idea

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My bff is about to get a girlfriend… I’m sad but happy. Happy for him but sad for me… ah, life. It was bound to happen sometime. Although I find it ironic that he incited me to join in on his singles club… hm… lol

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Food so far: Cheesecake Factory-fresh veggie omelette, McDonalds-southwest chicken salad, potluck lunch at my house-calabasa, adobo-chicken & pork, bbq pork, kilawin, pinakbet, pancit, Pinks Hot Dogs-martha stewart dog, my dad cooked brunch monday morning-fried rice, chicken, & egg rolls, In N Out-protein hamburger, Crumbs cupcakes-Samoa, Beard Papa’s cream puffs-cookie with strawberry filling, Roscoe’s chicken & waffles-chix special & 2 thigh combo (hey i shared with my siblings!) then 21 choices-honey vanilla, raspberry & pomegranate Shogun-banzai chicken entrée. More food tasting to come tonight, tomorrow, and saturday.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Yes with all this food tasting it sounds like I’m just blowing off money?! Oh no, I was on a spending fast all last month and the weeks prior to this friend visit. Also, when they leave I am back on that spending fast.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oh yesterday at the lake I was hanging out with my niece (2 years old). She was throwing sand into a pile building a sand castle. I was sitting down next to her helping. I would occasionally stand up to stretch my legs. She would say my name, “Melanie… “

Yes Cayleigh? What do you want?

She would point beside her and say “Sit Down”

Ah, kids…
