Please for my Sanity III

As already established some people are ridiculous. Literally ridiculous there is no going around that statement. Some of those people I would desperately like to FIRE!

Exhibit A.

I emailed a gal at work asking for their school mascot. She emails me back, “What is your email address?”

Exhibit B.

Edison was working on the power lines from Monday night at 7. The power was expected to be on Tuesday morning at 7. They didn’t come on until 9am.

Phone rings… “I just wanted to know if the phones were back online now?”

What I wanted to say: “Actually no, must be some weird thing going on that I could answer the phone…”

Exhibit C.

I’m at a restaurant. Waiters are not really supposed to butt in your conversation right? Well, I’m talking to my friend and going on about my business and he’s laughing at my story. Listening to my story. Then proceeds to stand there wait til I’m done talking and ask if I need anything else. “Yes, can you please leave us alone for 2 minutes so we can start eating and actually tell you if the food is good or not..Oh by the way. You never brought us our appetizer”

Exhibit D.

Email correspondence.

Reply: This is what you should write. [Instructions here]

Response: Uhm, so what should I write again?

Reply: Read your email before you respond.

Welcome to my Randomness XXVII

**This was written yesterday**

I wrote a guest post for Marlize last month. Read here: http://everygirlscorner.wordpress.com/2011/01/08/melanie/

* * * * * * * *

I took a 2 hour long nap yesterday when I came home from work.

* * * * * * * *

I am now sitting at Renae’s house chilling on her new sofas. šŸ™‚

* * * * * * * *

She’s preggo and I’m SO EXCITED FOR HER!

* * * * * * * *

I went to Best Buy yesterday ready to give the dude my number. He wasn’t there.

* * * * * * * *

I’m going later today or tomorrow. I need to get a new phone. My phone is wack. I have a legit excuse. He better be there. LOL

* * * * * * * *

So my wacko phone. I was talking to a friend one night while charging my phone and it randomly shut off. Twice it did that in the span of 30 minutes.

* * * * * * * *

The next day I tried out my phone again. This time when dialing the numbers the screen blanked out and the light wouldn’t turn on and I couldn’t turn my phone off. It did that twice.

* * * * * * * *

The next day my screen blacked out and randomly opened an application I did not choose.

* * * * * * * *

Apparently, my phone is itching to get back to Best Buy. UGH FAIL.

Just hope he’s there when I go in.

* * * * * * * *

Oh and they didn’t have any of my phones in stock when I went on Friday (last night)

* * * * * * * *

I have missed you my blogging friends. Hopefully I will get into a routine of blogging again with this new job.

* * * * * * * *

Welcome to my Randomness XX

I had two stories to tell now none come to mind. Wow…talk about getting old.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I remember!

Anyway, I was reception relief yesterday since my subordinate didn’t come to work. I haven’t been up to the reception desk in about a month or so?

* * * * * * * * * * * *

A client calls. Need to speak with Jack, please (Names changed, of course)

Me: I’m sorry Jack is out of the office for an event. Would you like to leave a message or be transferred to his voicemail?

Client: That’s what you told me last week. Did you ever give him the message?

Me: I’m sorry, this is the first time I’ve been at the reception desk since last month. I work in the accounting department and we’re short-staffed at the moment.

Client: Oh. Well, when will he be back?

Me: I’m not sure I know he had training last week and there’s an event this week. If you leave a message I’ll e-mail him your information. Jack returns phone calls accordingly.

Client: Ok, I need a loan and I was referred by Wells Fargo…

Etc. So goes the conversation.

Sometimes you can tell someone is prolonging the conversation. I was getting that type of feeling with this guy. Hey, what can I do? A client is a client right? Go with the flow, keep him engaged, interested, and portray that I really care about his needs and how our services can meet those needs… yada yada.

Yup, I was right. He just wanted to prolong the conversation. Unfortunately, he asked for my name and yes I gave it.

His conclusion/goodbye. Ok, sweetie thank you so much.

GAG.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

He was probably in his mid-thirties. Not that anything is wrong with that age. It’s definitely not the age for me. šŸ™‚

* * * * * * * * * * * *

We were supposed to have an Alumni Volleyball game tonight. We aren’t having one. It got canceled. I’m totally disappointed.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I was so looking forward to this game!

* * * * * * * * * * * *

At least tomorrow I still have my Saturday league. I’m going to need to find something after this Saturday league is over though.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

November 1st starts the end of my life. Not that I’ve had a life right now anyway. For sure, I’m going to start studying again. This time I’m determined. Studying 3/5 week nights I’m available. Saturday afternoon studying. Sunday afternoon reviews.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Let’s hope I stick with it. I have 2 months planned out. I also have a weekly to-do list. I also have a daily to do list: M, T, W, S/S each day has several goals.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Since I love lists and crossing things off my list…this should help me stay motivated and determined. I’ve also accounted for Holidays.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

The second story I really wanted to share has completely eluded my mind.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

OH MY GOODNESS! I remember now! I think I remember at least. Vegetable oil. Everyone uses vegetable oil, right? Well, we also have olive oil, virgin olive oil, etc.Sometime this week in the evening I was really itchy. I couldn’t figure out why. I took Benadryl and it somewhat subsided. The next evening I was looking at the ingredients for pan de sal. Filipino bread. AMAZING taste. Anyway! It said vegetable oil. I randomly thought to look at the ingredients for vegetable oil just because I was in a weird mood. I don’t know what I was expecting but definitely not what I found out!

* * * * * * * * * * * *

There was only one ingredient for vegetable oil: SOYBEAN OIL

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I immediately stopped eating. That further complicates things considering almost EVERYTHING is cooked in vegetable oil. I think fewer people would actually use vegetable oil if they called it what it really was: soybean oil-sounds weird.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

This morning I came into work later than usual. I was actually able to talk to my dad. I don’t ever see my dad because I’m usually out of the house by the time he wakes up. He was awake a little earlier because he’s attending this online trading seminar. I opted to go into work late just to chat with him even if it was for 15 minutes. I love my dad. He’s always smiling. Honestly sometimes its hard to tell if he’s serious or not because he has those smile wrinkles.

* * * * * * * * * * * *
The only downside to this Saturday evening volleyball league…I’m unable to go out-of-town. My family is visiting my grandpa (he lives 3 hours away). I haven’t seen him since…oh dear. I don’t know when. Probably the summer time. Because in August my skin wreaked havoc and in September my volleyball league started. I miss him. My dad is just like him… lol.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Any randomness you care to share?

Welcome to my Randomness XVIII

Friday all I did was drive.

At least that’s what it felt like: drive to work, drive to Long Beach Community College, drive to Target, then drive home-only to find out my brother is expecting someone to take him to his game.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I take a 40 minute nap. Drive my brother to his game in Chino, drive back home, quickly get ready for a family gathering, drive to Pomona for family gathering, then drive home. FINALLY.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Later on today, Saturday: Drive my sister to a bridal shower (West Covina), run companyĀ errands-yes, on a saturday, pick up my friend Courtney from ULVĀ (University of La Verne, pick up my sister from West Covina, drive to Americana at Brand, drive to Griffith Observatory for the sunset, drive to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles for dinner off Sunset Blvd, then drive home. I’ll probably have to drop Courtney off at ULV too.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

If Friday’s drivers are going to be the same kind of drivers on Saturday I may have my sisterĀ drive.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I emailed him and invited him to a Saturday game. I told him if he wanted to come to text me if he didn’t want to come. A text is unnecessary. Is that rude?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This weather is killing me. It’s cold then hot. Friday was drizzling/spitting and in the afternoon it was warm and sunny THEN in the evening was cold and breezy.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

California weather please make up your mind. My allergies go berserk and so does my health!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Honestly, if I wanted sporadic and spastic weather I would move to Greenville, South Carolina. There is sporadic and spastic. In one week I could experience allĀ four seasons!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’ve got anĀ Interview on Monday atĀ 1:30. I haven’t heard anything from USC yet. I’m planning on calling them Monday to see how the interview process is going for all the applicants and if I’m still in the running. Ā

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’ll be updating my Resume and adding a whole lot more responsibilities and duties to my current job description.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Thursday I was not feeling well at all. Wednesday night was a horrible allergy night. I think it’s from the egg rolls I ate, they had carrots in them. It’s really hard to remember I’m allergic to veggies-celery, carrots, and potatoes.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I digress, so Thursday I call in sick. I’m exhausted. My allergies/sinus are kicking in. Menopausal weather does not help. I’m expected to come into the 3 pm meeting. The meeting lasted 30minutes. Honestly, they should’ve called my home phone for this meeting.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This is getting ridiculous. I’m really in need of a sabbatical.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

What I really want to do though is get alone. No distractions and no people. Just sit, contemplate, pray, read, relax, and fast. Maybe I only needĀ 1 day, or maybe 2-3 days. I just need a couple of days to refocus and reenergize.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

It doesn’t look like that can happen anytime soon. Praying it does though. I need it.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Until then this will be my happy thought….

Welcome to My Randomness XII

Today, I am at work BUT after work I am going on a FAMILY VACATION!

Woohoo! I’m excited. We’re driving up to Monterey.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Food wise, it will be quite interesting since I can’t eat soy, potatoes, celery, carrots, or peanuts (among other things). Don’t worry, I brought Benadryl and loratadine, just in case.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Today was my first day to drive in the carpool lane on my way to work. My parents rode with me so they can pick me up from work and we can head straight to our destination!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My dad: Oh, it’s not too traffic going to work. That’s good.

Me: Uhm, dad, we were in the carpool lane. I can’t take the carpool lane to work.

Dad: Oh yeah. Oh well.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Last Saturday, Danny and I drove down to eat out with Renae and her husband, James at Chili’s. The parking lot was full…

People in the OC think they can do whatever they want.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Lately, this song’s lyrics has been my mindset: Not that you died By Legacy Five.

Not that You died for the whole world
that humbles my heart, brings me to my knees
Not that you died for the whole world
But Lord that you died for me

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I want to take classes again but I’m going to have to wait til I pass my CPA exams. I’m asking around about Counseling classes. I’m really wanting to continue with my Psychology/Counseling minor.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My sister and I are planning to FINALLY take pictures-at the beach and hotel. Drive around and find other spots to take pics at, etc.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

She’s into photography and has 2-3 books on different techniques, coloring, lighting etc. We’ll see how well she does šŸ™‚

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My mom ran into someone from our neighborhood who tailors clothes. I dropped off 3 pairs of pants to get done-$15 for all three. How amazing is that?!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I have a full bag of clothes-skirts, dresses, and blazers-needing to be tailored. I’m going to bring them in 3’s. I’m not in a hurry.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

On Wednesday I went to the mall with my sister. I found these jean capris that fit me perfectly! Perfect enough that I would wear it every day šŸ™‚ Well, I didn’t get them because it was Buy one get one half off and I didn’t have another pair. If I bought them alone it was $27. I don’t pay that much for jean capris.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Yesterday I went back because I got off work at 5 and got to the mall at 6. Just to see and try them again. I really liked them and I figured if I tried them again maybe I wouldn’t like them and I can “let them go”. Haha. Guess what?! It was 50% off! WOOHOO! I bought them for $13.50-ah. YES!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I also went to Forever 21 and bought some accessories-ring and necklace:

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I even went to Target-I had to return the gum and the cashews. šŸ˜¦

The gum had soy lecithin; the cashews contained peanut oil.

It was a good thing I looked at the ingredients!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Oh and as I was walking into Target with cashews, gum, and receipt in hand-some guy in his truck:

Random guy: Hey! Are those cashews?!

Me: Uh, yeah, haha

Random guy: Share those! Cashews are good!

Walking away laughing out loud….

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

All that done and got to church at 7:05 !!!

Out of the Office

I will be out of the office on Friday. Please help me choose my automatic out of the office message. (Sarcasm) Although I will be out of the office Friday but don’t worry I’ll still have a randomness post up.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

1. I am current out of the office at a job interview and will reply to you if I fail to get the position. Please be prepared for my mood.

2. You are receiving this automatic notification because I am out of the office. If I was in, chances are you wouldn’t have received anything at all.

3. Sorry to have missed you, but I’m at the doctor’s having my brain and heart removed so I can be promoted to our management team.

4. I will not be able to delete all the emails you send me until I return from vacation. Please be patient, and your mail will be deleted in the order it was received.

5. Thank you for your email. Your
credit card has been charged $5.99
for the first 10 words and $1.99 for each additional word in your message.

6. The email server is unable to verify your server connection. Your message has not been delivered. Please restart your computer and try sending again… (The beauty of this is that when you return, you can see who did this over and over and over….)

7. Thank you for your message, which has been added to a queuing system. You are currently in 352nd place, and can expect to receive a reply in approximately 19 weeks.

8. Hi, I’m thinking about what you’ve just sent me… Please wait by your PC for my response.

9. I’ve run away to join a different circus.

10. I will be out of the office for the next two weeks for medical reasons. When I return, please refer to me as “Sheila” instead of Steve

Welcome to my Randomness VIII

**Sorry, this was supposed to be posted yesterday and I had a drafts post set up and everything but I was at work til 8:30 last night*

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I see my TWIN in a few hours!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I invited him to hang out Saturday. He said he’ll let me know cause he just bought a classic car and was planning on working on it Saturday… Update: He needs to work on his car before he heads back to school. He said we will hang out sometime soon, hopefully.

I’m assuming he included hopefully because it’s dependent on me …?Any comments about this?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Marlize jumped on the random bandwagon!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I am on a non-starch diet. I am constantly hungry. Yes, as a Filipino I’m going through rice withdrawal and I love starch-mainly potatoes and bread. Mainly, potatoes. So I’m just never full.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This week I have been at work til 7 or 7:30 last night it was 8:30.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’m heading out to Griffith Observatory today after Danny and I pick up my friends from LAX. Then to KNOTTS, again.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This weekend, we’re going to have a full house. We have 2 foreign exchange students. My 2 friends from out of state, Danny, and another friend who has a weekend layover.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Actually, its not a weekend layover his flight path was Michigan, LA, China. I told him to spend a few days in LA before he heads back home. So he is, except he was supposed to arrive today but his airlines canceled all Saturday flights. Crazy huh?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Last night I could not sleep! I was reacting to something like crazy so I took a shower and Benadryl around 12:30. I still could not sleep.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Finally at 2:30 I went into the living room with a pillow. I was on the couch-reading my Bible and RU book. I ended up writing in my prayer journal. It was a really good time-I found my frustration from not being able to sleep subsiding. I fell asleep around 3 or 3:30

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I woke up at 7 and transferred myself to my bed, finally. I’ve been sleeping in the guest bed in my room. (But my sister is gone this weekend so I took my bed back, LOL)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I was in and out til 9am. So now, I’m going to get ready because Danny will be here in 30mins.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Have an amazing weekend because I will!!!
